Latest Update Problem for KB960353????

Windows Update downloaded new file for Silverlight but will not install. I get a popup Windows Installation dialog box that says,

"The feature you are trying to use is a network resource that is unavailable." It gives some paths to click on but it can not find the file.

How can I fix this so the new update will install?

yeah I got the same error with KB960353, I have just seen an Update notification in my Vista Ultimate desktop and after selecting install, it completed downloading file but can't go beyond that, it says

" The feature you are trying to use is a network resource that is unavailable."

Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB96053) just popped up in my automatic updates. However, the more information link

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=139340

goes nowhere and opens a plain http://support.microsoft.com/ page

searching that site for the KB number only returns

"There are no documents that match your search for "Kb960353"
Please try a different search above or try one of the related links below."

what gives? I don't install updates unless I can read some more detail about them, and the only thing I find about it is stuff like this thread. I'm not installing until I at least get something official about this patch.

Same here. KB960353 has been trying to install on by XP SP3 machine for the last 3 days... keeps getting this error.

Never had a problem with MS updates before.

I only had to download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.  Other 
instructions would not work.

After running I just rebooted and installed the update with no problem.

I cannot even remove the current installation of Silverlight. When I search for silverlight.msi, two locations are returned, but when I enter these locations in the uninstaller, it doesn't like them and says "try to find an installation package silverlight.msi from a folder from which you can install Microsoft Silverlight.

So it appears that Silverlight was installed in a location that XP does not recognise, and it cannot remove or update it.

Windows Update itself also supplies similar info (but less clear) but you have to click a link to see it.

@Microsoft:

The link supplied in the Windows Update info (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=105787) redirects to http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/ which is of no use, so i went searching for more info.

thatweb page didn't help me it just wanted me to install it from there instead of through the update. And it STILL had the same problems as all these other people's. This is really slowing down my computer and frustrating the heck out of me. Also, for some reason, it keeps trying to run it and install it onto my extra internal hard drive instead of my C drive :(

I used Windows Installer Clean Up to remove Silverlight and reinstalled, seems to be OK now. WICU didn't install properly until I installed it go the desktop. Not sure why that is.

Hi All,

If we have Silverlight 2 RTW (2.0.31005.0) for developers installed in our computer, we need to download this installation file from here. If the installation is failed, we'd better Remove the previous version and restart your computer and reinstall them under the administrator account.

I am having this happen for the last 3 days at least, too, and I am really pissed I have to waste my time to fix this. MS should have been able to have this fixed by now! I have never had this problem before either.
