    Errors creating a silverlight project

    Jan 14, 2008 01:17 AM | LINK

When I try to create a silverlight project in visual studio 2008, I get the following error: "Access to the path 'C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplatesCache\CSharp\Silverlight\1033\SilverlightProject.zip\TestPage.html.js' is denied."  I navigated to this file in explorer and gave full access to the "Everyone" user, and I still get this error.  I am running 64 bit Vista Business. Whats the deal?

Do you have AVG installed? If yes, uninstall this software.  <more>

I do, is uninstalling it really the only solution?  That seems kind of ridiculous.

No. There are a few alternative solutions (e.g. changing the file name in SL project template, hide extensions for known file types" under folder options, disabling the AVG service and etc ) but I never try before.

Uninstalling AVG is the best and easy..

Initially, I was wondering why Microsoft did like that. but then, I realized  that AVG, the small company compared to MS, should change that thing in their software.. But they didn't do anything. that means they don't have latest information or they are ignoring the Silverlight developer. So, I think AVG is ridiculous. I can live without AVG but I can't live Silverlight or MS. :)
