I have an odd one where I can create a new sl project in vs2008 but as soon as I try to open the xaml it crashes with the oh so lovely "encounterd a problem and needs to close". Has anyone had this? found a solution?

Silverlight 3 Tools for VS 2008 SP1. KB967143 VS2008
The same happened to me the 2st day SL3 appeared, but only with SL3 projects created before 10th July.
In the following days, I uninstalled everything (sl2, sl3, all tools and toolkits) and reinstalled only packages which refers to SL3. After that the issue did not repeat.

thanks for your input. I have solved it, the culprit was my display driver for ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro, after a complete unistall of everything ATI to VGA mode it worked and then after einstalling the ATI stuff it still worked. A tip is to look in the event
log that tells the "faulting application" (I am on Vista Business).

Hi,

Have you tried to reinstall the silverlight tools?

yes 3 times. I only installed it the first time yesterday and from the word go I had the problem.
