• Re: Re: Re: where can I obtain the AdaptiveStreaming.dll library?

Apparently it's a cross domain issue, because I copied my xap file and test page to the IIS server and it worked.  I figured this out when I tried the expression player and got the same 4001 errors, it wouldn't even load a thumbnail.  I set up a crossdomain.xml file on the IIS server, but unfortunately nothing changed.  Is ...
• Re: DRM License cacheable

Silverlight only supports single-play licenses, and caching them would defeat the purpose.
• Re: Silverlight, WMS and seeking

It works for me, I don't know why it wouldn't work for you.
• Re: Re: Re: where can I obtain the AdaptiveStreaming.dll library?

Alright, I'm trying to get my player to work with the AdaptiveStreamingSource, and I keep getting 4001 errors.  I took a look at the updated player in Encoder 3 and now I'm completely confused.  There is no adaptivestreaming.dll anymore, but a smoothstreaming.dll and I don't understand how to use it.  I looked at the ...
• Re: MediaElement never enters AcquiringLicense state

Thanks for the reply.  That explains some of what I'm seeing with the CurrentStateChanged event, but I don't think it applies to the AcquiringLicense state.  It is supposed to stay in that state until a license is acquired, and I know it doesn't happen that quickly.  Is there a more reliable way to tell when it is ...
• MediaElement never enters AcquiringLicense state

I've got my player working, I can get a license and play it back and everything.  My problem is that I'm using the CurrentStateChanged event to display status updates, and it never goes into the AcquiringLicense state. It goes like this:OpeningOpeningOpeningOpeningOpeningPlayingPlayingBufferingPlaying Is this normal?  ...
• Re: Silverlight 3 is here. :-)
That's not true, it is much better now, same technique in WPF I guess, but that doesn't mean it's perfect... ;-) ... But I guess it's the best you can get for device independent rendering. I guess some "snap to device pixels" functionality isn't technologically possible. It's just ...
What's the status of ClearType rendering? It doesn't seem to be available in this release either?
Yeah, I'm not seeing any ClearType rendering, and the text still looks like crap.  To say this is disappointing would be putting it extremely lightly.
• Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight
I think I'll vote with my wallet and just discontinue my Netflix service.  I have other options.
Make sure you let them know why you're canceling your service, otherwise it will do no good.
• Re: Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight
Well, lucrative does not equal responsible. Also, Microsoft is probably not gaining any customers by using DRM. No pure Linux user is going to buy a copy of Windows so that they can use Silverlight. More so, I would say, companies like Netflix are losing those customers.
It does when your ...
