  • Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight

It's great that people continue to post their "votes" here. However, it's going to take ACTION to make a change guys. Please read above and make some moves to make it happen. Posting here isn't going to change anything one bit. It will take some actual WORK to make this happen.
  • Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight

Guys, I suspect it's not an issue of Microsoft "providing the DRM stack" to the Moonlight group. The issue is that Moonlight is not a Corporate Entity. It's a project "sponsored by Novell."  I would suggest that someone on this list go ask Novell to form some kind of Corporate Entity for Mono and then license ...
  • Re: Re: Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight

You are very welcome and if anything we have bubbled up the issue in a public forum where hopefully someone and some eyes will take notice. I like you await the day where we can support similar digital media experiences on Linux that we support on Mac and PC. If I hear anything I will update this thread for sure and you do likewise ...

  • Re: Re: Re: SilverLight & D.R.M Content

To all on this thread, I just got back from my quarterly meetings with the PlayReady and Silverlight teams. The "facts" were already out there but to augment my posting here goes:  1. Yes you can do PlayReady live using WMV content for Silverlight Player. No suprise there. Of course this is so 80's and WMV ...
  • Re: Re: SilverLight & D.R.M Content

So the reason only WMRM can be used with PlayReady for Live right now is that the Live Smooth Streaming server is not out. Once it hits within the next 30 days, you will be able to do live provided you are working with BuyDRM and an Inlet or Envivio or Digital Rapids. Hope this helps.   Christopher Levy ...

  • Re: A plea for DRM support in Linux/Moonlight

Hey Gobbles,  I am trying to balance my personal time spent here helping people with their DRM strategies and my actual work at BuyDRM deploying those strategies for customers. I also post on other lists about streaming technologies and digital media at large. It's a busy time to say the least. Thank you for your well thought out and ...
