A text only context menu would suffice for my needs. I just want to provide the best experience I can for my users. It's also a hard sell to convince management, users, etc. that moving to silverlight from DHTML is the right move if we lose functionality as basic as context menus.

A ContextMenu/MouseRightClick event would be fantastic! I'm still amazed you guys left this out of the 1.0 feature set. I would venture to guess the reason context menus are not widely used is because they're difficult to do with DHTML. Unless one is using a DHTML/AJAX toolkit that provides menu controls context menus aren't worth the pain.
However.. if one were using a super cool toolkit like, oh, say Silverlight then one would definitely want to offer ...

Why would we NOT want context menus? I'm very surprised they aren't already supported. Could you give an explanation as to why context menu support was left out?
