I thought it might be something broken with the Properties pane, but even with it completely closed, it still crashes, so guessing that not rendering properly is just a side effect of whatever the crash is. EDIT: Oh, for anyone else running into this issue, the easiest workaround I've got at the moment is to use Right Click, Open With... XML Editor, for editing XAML files.
