If you install Silverlight beta2, the version of
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v2.0\Reference Assemblies\System.Runtime.Serialization.dll does not contain the IsReference property if the DataContractAttribute class. This prevents customers from
calling WCF services with Entity Framework based entities in the datacontracts where graph serialization is needed. The detail customer scenario is

Hi, as discussed earlier, support for IsReference will be added in RTW.
shanaolanxing - I'll transfer to the Windows Azure team, and will have limited time to participate in the Silverlight forum. Apologize if I don't answer your questions in time.

Hi Yi-Lun
I was the initial instigator of this issue.
This has bought our development to a halt. I found that no complex object with any relationship could be sent back for update or insert.
This happens with any persistence mechanism , I have tried LinqToSQL and just a generic class but to no avail.
I have concluded by the discussions on the ADO EF news group that this will be rectified before release but as no one knows when that is
I am investigation other options at the moment but am unsure how to proceed.
I will keep an eye out but don't have my hopes up at this point.
This would stop any major app development being done in silverlight so we may look at going back to asp.net.
Thanks
Martintr
