Yes. Silverlight 2 currently supports a large subset of the WMV formats, with VC-1 being the star. For audio, Silverlight supports MP3 and WMA.
To convert your files, you can use Microsoft Expression Encoder or your favorite conversion program.

Jun 27, 2008 06:58 PM | LINK
Hi, I want to put a video in my silverlight project, but silverlight just can play WMV video formats?
When I drop the video in Blend nothing happens, and when I drop a wmv video, there is...
Its a silverlight limitation?
Thanks!

noup but reencoding in wmv will probably give you a better quality anyways :)
