I uninstalled VS 2008 standard and deleted the folder from the program files to get rid of kb949325 that seemed to work I reinstalled everything it all seems to work, some tools seem to be missing in blend when I open any project
I get this package load message everytime I start up and load a project VSIP: Package 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.ShellConfig.ShellConfigPackage, Microsoft.VisualStudio.ShellConfig, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' has failed to load ( GUID = {815946B0-1C0D-4EAB-8226-36EA3C59162A} ).Please contact package vendor for assistance.
I did most of one tutorial when I close VS I get a message boxthat says VS has encountered a problem and needs to close It sends a report and restarts itself then if I shut it off it closes just fineIf I open a reguler web site it closes no problem it's only doing it with silverlight app's one message pointed to the solutionto the problem in this file C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VSCommon\9.0\SQM\sqmdata , it makes a new one everytime I close VS with a silverlight app in it

1. Could you please check the size of Silverlight 2 Tool for Visual Studio in "Add/Remove Program" or "Programs and Features" in control panel?
2. Could you please check out this post http://www.itwriting.com/blog/?p=665 ?

I don't have the shut down problem anymore and the Microsoft.VisualStudio.ServicesProxy.dll was updated.
The first time i tried this I moved the file to my desktop and it didnt update iI wonder if there could still be a reference to it The secound time I tried I moved it off my machine completely and bingo silverlight tools 2 beta 2 whent from 1.4mb to 1.7mb and at this point everthing looks good.
I'm going to mark this post as answered .

Hi, I don't get that error when I was installing. Could you please read this post http://weblogs.asp.net/bradleyb/archive/2008/06/06/upgrading-to-silverlight-beta-2-and-visual-studio-2008-sp1-beta.aspx ? Please read the steps by step and if you are missing some steps, you should try to uninstall and follow the steps.

Thanks for posting Micheal yes I followed those steps and Brad and I tried some other scripts and combinations
and at that time I was getting the same two messages as are shown on Brads post I took the steps I out lined in my uninstalled deleted and reinstalled
step by step this new message that is comming up now is different than the other two I'm wondering if this could be part of the origanal problem
with kb949325 evry thing seems to be working Ill have to try more things with silverlight to know for sure and I will try running through those steps agian just to be sure I'll let you know how it comes out

Micheal I retried te seps on Brads blog and created a new silverlight app the wizard came up asked if I wanted it in a website I said yes everything comes up I have 38 controls in my tool box
but I still get that message it has the same PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
But it has a different ( GUID = {815946B0-1C0D-4EAB-8226-36EA3C59162A} ).I think i might tell Vs to stop loading that package do a couple of tutorials and see if it makes any differance I seen this message for the first time
when I installed silverlight 2 beta 1 I disabled loading this package and then shortly after I uninstalled silverlight 2 beta 1 to installed SP1so if you think theres any reason I shouldnt disable this load let me know
thanks Rick
