Installation Frustration

okay, i need the silverlight to access a certain website for work. But, on my laptop computer, running win xp, it wont let me dowload or install. Keeps giving me this error message:

C:\documents and settings\e1705\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\VA0Y1GC5\silverlight[1].exe is not a valid WIN32 application

i don't know if silverlight had previously gotten dowloaded on this laptop by another user, but i need silverlight to view my work website. Very urgent.

Re: Installation Frustration

In the internet explorers options delete any temporary internet files.  Then go to this web page and try again

Re: Installation Frustration

so, i did some research on the other posts for problems installing silverlight. I found one that worked and I was able to download silverlight with no error message and I can view my work website. The person that posted the answer i needed is totally awesome so I will paste what he said to do that worked for me on this problem. He was talking about silverlight 2.0 and I dont know if that is what i was trying to download but it still worked.

Here is what that person said:

Re: Unable to install Silverlight 2.0 Beta 1

I hope this might help someone else that has the same issue. Just in case the links don't work because I copied and pasted to my post, just look for the heading "Unable to install silverlight 2.0 beta 1" - just like it is listed above. The person has the links there and I know they work from that post.
