I've just finished to test a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 image deployed to Virtual PC 2007 SP1 running on Windows 7, Silverlight 2 works very well.

Have you made any progress on this? I am getting started on a Silverlight implementation on a Wyse V90 running XP Embedded (not sure of SP level, but would be surprised to learn it is not at least SP2) with 512 RAM and 512 Flash. We are also running either IE6/7 or FireFox 3. Silverlight 2.0 runtime installs successfully yet, when I try to view a page with Silverlight content--even the most basic page with no actual controls or code, just a silverlight "container"--the browser pauses for a while, then the entire browser shuts down. This occurs at pretty much the same time on IE than it does on FF in terms of page load lifecycle. It's as though the silverlight runtime notices that it is needed and shuts down the entire browser. I would very much like to get Silverlight running on these V90s with Firefox. Thanks for any assistance!

I have built several more images with the Silverlight 1.0 base and then upgrading to Silverlight 2.0 and still no luck.....

Thanks for the info Davide. I read that article a couple of weeks ago when tweaking the image build for the base XPe system.

My image is just about thru with the First Boot Agent - and I will be able to test it soon....

Hi,

I haven't tried it yet, but it should work building an image containing SL 1.0 and then upgrade to SL 2.

Yeah - I though so, but diddn't try to install the Silverlight 1.0 package that was included with WES due to some of the new features that 2.0 has. I rebuilt an image and am booting a XPe as I type with the 1.0 version.

If that works I will try to upgrade to 2.0. Either way - I will let you know.....

Looks like this should be supported in XP Embedded Standard:

Silverlight is included in the latest version of XPe called Windows Embedded Standard. We have released a CTP of this product which you can download at https://connect.microsoft.com/windowsembedded

Maybe you need to use the included version and not install the version on the web?

I am using IE 7. Operating system is XP embedded with sp 3.

I have tried left mouse clicking on the screens to open Silverlight Configuration - but the config does not open to show any settings.

I am somewhat new to Silverlight and am working on a project - building a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 image for use on a ELO ESY1529L. These machines are the device that will be running the web-page apps. I have built the XPe image with all requirements to install Silverlight 2.0.

Sliverlight 2.0 installs correctly - but web pages do not display (either a blank page or an error referencing Sys.InvalidOperationException: Runtime error 1001 in control Xaml1) .

The processor of the ELO's we have are VIA 1GHZ Nehemiah processor with 512M RAM.

I was just checking to see if anyone else has had issues using the ELO - and if there is anything else I can check before telling the developers that Silverlight 2.0 will not work on our current hardware.
