The toolkit samples include a demo of how to use some alternative style of the autocompletebox (the styling tab). This enables us to apply a styling to the autocompletebox so that it looks like a combobox and can be used a bit like a combobox. When you click the dropdown and the popup is shown, you can scroll down in the list of items. After you have scrolled down the list and found your item, you will need to release the mousebutton from the scrollbar to select then item. When you do that, the popup collapse and you cannot select any items. The possible bug can be tested at the online toolkit samples.

Hi, I believe this is corrected - the scroll bar issue. The next release will help take care of it.

Hi Jeff, thanks for your reply. Do you have any dates on the next release?

Hi,
Jeff is correct, that is a known issue in the Silverlight Toolkit.
The next Silverlight Toolkit release will be happening in June 2009. If you desperately need a fix right now, we could guide you through editing the source code for AutoCompleteBox and have this work.
Sincerely,

Hi, sorry to drag this old thread back from the dead... Do you have any idea on the next release date of the Toolkit? I'm currently prototyping a silverlight app for some management types, and all they seem to notice is the Autocomplete scrollbar not working....
Cheers, Dave

There is a July 2009 release notes page that is going to be published once the release goes live: http://silverlight.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Silverlight%20Toolkit%20July%202009%20change%20list&version=1
