Hello Everybody.
For me it does not work on Firefox 3.0b3pre BUT IT DOES NOT WORK ON FF 2.0.0.11 EITHER!!!!. ¿Maybe MS want´s us to use IE only? (I´m on vista x64 and it works ok on IEx32)
Setup: Vista x64, (totaly up to date), Firefox x32 v2.0.0.11, Firefox x32 v3.0b3pre, IE 7 (both x32 and x64), etc.
Silverlight 1.0 works ok on IE7 x32. DOES NOT work on IE x64 nor ANY of the firefoxes. (Using firefox with a clean profile with NO add ons).
Silverlight 1.1 DOES NOT WORK FOR ANY BROWSER.

UPDATE: Silverlight 1.0 DOES work with Flock 1.05 (its 32 bit). It´s Mozilla technology .... dont´know why it does´nt work on Firefox.

It's expected that it wouldn't work with 64 bit IE. Do you have Javascript disabled on Firefox?

No. At first I tried it with a full profile full of extensions. aka no script and adblock. Thougt that could be the problem so I tried silverlight on a "clean" profile, with no extensions, just as it were a clean install. It does´nt work there. Dont Know what to do. It bugs me that it works on flock but not on firefox (ver 2.0.0.11)
Any ideas?

Well!!!!!!!!!!!! Got it working. Here´s how I did:
1- On Clean Firefox Profile: Added silverlight.net to popup windows whitelist
2- DISABLED add enabled again JavaScript.
After that it started working....
ON "full" firefox: the same as above, but after it still would´nt work I started with extensions: disabled all possible culprits and started to enable one by one:
THE CULPRIT: Stop AutoPlay v0.71 (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1765) (Home Page: http://hemiolapei.free.fr/divers/sap/sap-en.html)
Started a Discusion there. Hope they fix it because it is a COOL extension.
I still have No Script, AddBlock Plus and RIP (Remove It Permanently) enable, as usual you have to add manually the sites or domains you want to "whitelist" with No Script. AddBlock block media on pages, but thats usuall, de-block and it´s OK.
Hope this is usefull for other Firefox users.
Thanks to all for "listening"

I can't get it to work. On a clean profile. It just shows the 'get Silverlight' button. And the popup blocker haven't even showed that the site wanted to open a window.

Does a clean profile mean no addons or extensions?

Yes. And I can't get it to work in Opera 9.50 alpha either :/

It doesn't work on Opera right now. Are you running Firefox 3?

Clean Profile = no extensions.
It works on it. I also got it working with extensions once I found out that "Stop Autoplay" was the culprit. I´m talking firefox 32 bir version 2.0.0.11
It works on flock 1.05 and IE 7 32 bit.
In firefox you have to "whitelist" silverlight in pop up blocker, etc....
ALL ON VISTA 64 bit, havn´t tried it on other oses.
It DOES NOT work on: IE 7 64 bit, firefox "bonecho" 64 bit, Opera 9.50 beta or Firefox 3.0 beta 3 pre 32 bit.

I'm trying to get this work on Firefox 3 nightly, with no success at all :/

This is a known issue. Firefox 3 and Silverlight.js do not work together, using object or embeg tags should work fine. This will hopefully get resolved soon, but Microsoft doesn't typically support Beta products as they present too much of a moving target.

I am using FF, and silverlight does indeed work. However, the showcase does not in fact open the applications after selecting (view). Could you tell me what the problem is?
01-11-2008 5:21 PM |
mmmmmm, may be a couple of causes: I´m speculating here because I don´t know how you have configed your ff.
1- Pop up blocker? try disabeling it or white listing the page or domains you´re trying to open
2- Extensions such as adblock and no script: you have to white list pages or domains in them also.
IF silverlight REALLY is working in your ff, it must be some of these.....
Luck!

Sorry, forgot: start with pop up blocker, but if its not that try disabling all your extensions. If it works that way enable one by one till you find the culprit

This is my Firefox configuration: (Silverlight works OK with this config!!!!! and it has a lot of extensions as you can see)
Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build ID: 2007112718 Enabled Extensions: [75]

I also can not get this to work in firefox on any machine (macs included)
Works just find in IE7 and Sorta works in Safari on the mac.
I've disabled the popup blocker and the silverlight auto update. Turned off all add-ons (all 2 of them I have)
Using firebug, it looks like the page loads everything correctly but the SL object is never displayed on the screen. There are no errors present.

Are you using Firefox 3? Silverlight.js doens't currently work with Firefox 3.

I tried some older versions of firefox as well. The browser just says loading (URL of site) forever.......

So in the older versions, the rest of the page renders, the Silverlight content does not, and the browsers never stops loading the page?
