The release version of silverlight 2.0 isn't working with the TechEd 2008 DVDs. Has anyone else experienced this? What's the plan?

Silverlight 2.0 was released today. The TechEd 2008 silverlight demos were more than likely based on Silverlight 2.0 Beta 2. There were some breaking changes between Beta 2 and Silverlight RTW. All beta versions of silverlight should have upgraded Released version automatically

Yeah. I dug deeper and found the offending tag:
<object data="data:application/x-silverlight," type="application/x-silverlight-2-b2" width="925px" height="510px">....</object>
I'm very surprised they released a "static" product (dvd's) on the beta version. When I saw the original content, I thought it was done using silverlight 1.0 but linked to the beta. Maybe someone can release a client...;-)
I haven't found an index on the dvds so now I'm doing a search on Thumbnail.jpg and changing the view to Extra Large Icons. It's a hack of an attempt without a textual overview but maybe someone else out there may find this helpfull.

Yeah same problem here!
I have two computers: one with Silverlight 2.0 RTW (2.0.31005.0) teched 2008 DVD's are not working. However the other computer has currently Silverlight version 2.0.30523.8 (I believe this is Silverlight 2 Beta 2) and it works with the teched 2008 DVD's.
Now the question is can we find the Silverlight 2 Beta 2 anywhere to download?

Yes and changingtype="application/x-silverlight-2-b2"totype="application/x-silverlight-2" do not solve the problem..

Just received an email from the team, here it is:
"This is a known issue that occurred with the release of SilverLight 2.0 as we built the TechEd DVDs using the beta version and the two turned out not to be compatible. We have resolved the online version which should be fully functional by end of day today (https://www1.msteched.com/), but the DVDs take a little more work since they are locally viewed. However, we are working on a solution and hope to have something available by the end of this week. You will receive an email from the core team once a solution has been determined."

Thanks for the update! Here's to hoping the solution turns up as a Codeplex project.

Hi,
How does this work if you have bought the DVD through the internet? Can you update me also on the solution?
Thanks.
Sander.

Thanks pluginbaby - In Aus TechEd08 we got the DVDs for the US TechEd only, and don't have access to the US site - so those outside of the US will probably very keen on how to hack the DVDs (or perhaps a local app which runs instead - I think maybe the best solution).
Needed them today, so It's been painful running each directory through and trying to work out whats what. (I don't have a problem with MS dog fooding SL beta on it, but a fix would be nice - at least it's SL, not like other MS on-line projects released in the last 12months that use flash [looks off into the sky])

Hi all,
I have just sent an update request on that topic as they first said "they will provide a solution for the end of the week" but nothing for now......
I will post the update here as soon as I get it.
