There is this new kid on the block in the browser world, and I couldn't resist trying to run Silverlight in it.
Surprise, surprise, it does't work. Things looks good on startup. My Silverlight 1.0 and 2 applications load fine, but unfortunately there seem to be some major issue when it comes to redrawing the Silverlight region. Any official comment from the Silverlight team on Google Chrome?
Thanks,
Koen

I normally don't like new browsers and I don't like Mozilla/Firefox. But Chrome is amazing. It has fixed all of my IE 7 bugs and it is fast. I want a fast browser. Please work with Google to make Silverlight work on it. I don't want 1 million features. I want speed and simplicity. Chrome is simple and fast. I also love the fact that it has it;s very own task manager and that every tab is a process. people say it takes more space. Not true. IE chews up so much memory on my system it's ridiculous. I have 10 IE windows opened at any time and by the time I get to the last one, there still is 400Mb of RAM consumed until I close everything. It's not Microsoft's fault 90% of the time but 3rd parties. But at least with Chrome, they die quickly once a tab is closed. and if they suck up ram, or cpu, I can see them!

Hi,
I also found some strange issues: when I want to post new message in this fodums, the message editor's buttons, actually the whole toolbar, never appears.
Silverlight? Doesn't work at all.

So after more investigation, it seems that the Silverlight 1.0 javascript doesnt work but the xaml gets rendered correctly.
I did a test here:http://www.gjhdigital.com/gjhdigital/sl/JSONSilverlight/
the xaml is displayed but not the data UNTIL you adjust the browser size. ??? And video is the same, it loads but will only start playing and keep playing as long as you adjust the size of the browser window.
Was Microsoft even aware of Chrome?

Hello, currently we don't have plans to support Chrome. We will support it in the future if it gains enough market share. Please understand, each browser implements the plug-in model differently, so it'll be a lot of effort to officially support a browser 100%... By the way, IE 8 also runs each tab in its own process. If a tab crashes, other tabs will still work fine.

Personally I don't want another browser but the problem I have is IE 7 no longer works properly on my machine. It's slow as hell and no one seems to know how to diagnose the issue. If I look at a fresh install then everything is fine and IE is ok. Not as fast as Chrome but decent. The problem is throughout the years the same thing occurs. After 9-10 months of use, IE starts to really become slow for no reason at all. I am positive the blame is in an add-in or something else but even when I turn them all off, same problem. Slow. Also I can no longer view videos on CNN with one click. I have to click the video, it doesn't start, click on most viewed, find the video again and click on it. now it plays. Yes I uninstalled flash and re-installed. I have no issues with youtube. Chrome is light and I think Google will try and keep it that way. But what I really like is that right now, it has transformed my browsing experience without forcing me to re-install my OS which I normally have to do every single year. EJK

"We will support it in the future if it gains enough market share." It's Google, and it will gain enough market share. If I were you, I'll start coding. BTW, my favorite browser was IE.

It's been fixed already. You can grab the latest build from here. Just tested it and it's working fine. http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/ On market share, on my site Chrome is already up at over 20% and most firefox users seem to have disappeared.
