Installing Silverlight

I've downloaded Silverlight_chainer.exe and tried to install it. It failed saying I needed Visual Web Developer. I have Visual Studio 2008 SP1 Professional. The original files are in a folder on C: as I downloaded them from MSDN (I have download license, not DVD).

During the install of Web Developer an error appeared saying it needed SQLSysClrTypes.msi and asked me to locate it. I downloaded the file from MSDN and saved where the CAB files are for my VS 2008 install. The setup dialog fails with a message:  "The chosen path is invalid. Chose OK to select a different folder."

Any ideas on getting past this point please? I've copied the file to a CD but VS update won't even accept D:\.

I'm running Windows Vista Business SP1.

Thanks

Re: Installing Silverlight

You shouldn't need VWD Express (partly because it's not supported yet), you just need the Web Developer part of VS.  If you go to Add/Remove Programs, select your VS install, select Uninstall/Change, and then Add/Remove features.  You should see Visual Web Developer under the Lanugage Tools section.

Re: Re: Installing Silverlight

I tried both. Web Developer Express didn't work so I uninstalled it. I then found the Web Developer part of the VS setup and that is where this problem happened.

Thanks for your help
