Graph Display

Hi

I`m new to Silver light.

Can any one tell me which control has to to be used to develop graphs in Silverlight? Does silverlight provide any inbuilt control for graph display?

Re: Graph Display

Silverlight doesn't have an inbuilt graph control and I don't know if there's ever gonna be one. There are some great 3rd party controls available though, especially http://www.visifire.com/. Take a look at some examples in their gallery.

What is Visifire?

Visifire is a set of open source data visualization components - powered by Microsoft® Silverlight. With Visifire you can create and embed visually stunning animated Silverlight Charts within minutes. Visifire is easy to use and independent of the server side technology. It can be used with ASP, ASP.Net, PHP, JSP, ColdFusion, Ruby on Rails or just simple HTML. Don't take our word for it! Visit Visifire Gallery or design your own chart using Chart Designer.

Re: Graph Display

Hello, if you mean chart, you can either create your own (which is not very difficult if you're good at math), or use third party components as party42 suggested. If you mean rendering vector graphics, please have a look at this video.

shanaolanxing - I'll transfer to the Windows Azure team, and will have limited time to participate in the Silverlight forum. Apologize if I don't answer your questions in time.

Re: Graph Display

its a make or buy descission I guess, though the software I suggested is free. So yeah, I guess you can do your own coding and refactoring to come up with some graphs or just download their components (open source btw) and get that head start... Smile
