Does silverlight support(or wmv) support video with an alpha channel so you can have things underneath the video show through?

Re: support for video alpha channel?

Hi:

  You can try this:

  <MediaElement Width="400" Height="300" Opacity="0.5" Source="Bear.wmv"></MediaElement>

Regards

Re: support for video alpha channel?

If Silverlight doesnt support this natively, as a workaround you could you edit your WMV's in Windows Movie Maker to produce the same effect in free software and then stream the edited video in silverlight.

This actually may give better client performance, rather than doing the alpha masking in realtime on the client side.
