Using Silverlight and .Net

Is there anyway to be able to use C# in Silverlight without having to buy a version of VS2008? I cannot afford it and I am wanting to learn how to use .Net with Silverlight. Thanks.

For now, you can get the trial version of VS 2008 which will give you 90 days of development. By then, hopefully they will have Silverlight support in Visual Web Developer Express 2008.

If you are a student, you can get Visual Studio and Expression Studio for free through DreamSpark

https://downloads.channel8.msdn.com/

Hope this helps

Unfortunately I am not a college student, but a high school student. I guess ill just check out the Trial. Thanks.

Also, am I able to keep my express version installed while using the trial?

Yes you should be able to install both side by side. DreamSpark for High School students is supposed to be coming soon, hopefully it will be in place by the time the trial runs out.
