Video Uploads

Hi,

I am building an application to allow users to share videos.  Is there any way to allow users to upload videos to my Silverlight Streaming account (without giving them my username and password obviously) so that I would be able to play them?

Are there any other providers that allow users to upload videos and would be playable inside silverlight?  Tried with rapidshare though they have that random time thing for free hosting, also Vimeo and Youtube do not work as they have the clientaccesspolicy.xml.

I just need to find somewhere where my users would be able to host their videos and just give a link when filling in the registration form so that I would be able to grab the video and play it.

Re: Video Uploads

Hi Silverlightmonster,

Silverlight Streaming provides SDK for developers. This can be achieved by using code way.  However, Microsoft Silverlight Streaming by Windows Live Beta is being discontinued and will eventually be taken down.  Therefore, we'd better wait for the future release.

Best regards,

Hi Silverlightmonster,

Actually, Silverlight Streaming is not determinated forever.  This will be migrated to window live strategy. We'd better waiting for its future release.  Thanks.

Re: Re: Video Uploads

Hello

I have a solution for you but it's on FMS not on Silverlight. Here is what I do to offer my viewers the option of sharing their content and also broadcast live. Check tikilive.org ,you ll find there information about how to get started. You can test the broadcaster for free, just connect a video source and select the bitrate, fps and audio options. Take the tutorials for better understanding: http://www.tikilive.com/learn_more

I can assist you with all these things related to video broadcasting just let me know if you have questions.

Best regards

Catalin, can you tell me how you do this exactly?

What is FMS exactly?  I just need let the users upload the videos, and when inputting the details in my form, just provide a link to the video so that I can play the video for them.
