I can not remove Silverlight in add or remove in my control panel

When I try a message pops up saying the patch package could not be opened and then asks to verify if it exists to access it, or contact the vendor. Im uninstalling it to reinstall at netflix advice because an error message pops up when I try to watch a movie instantly on netflix...Thanks for any help...Update..I removed it with Windows Install clean up software...Now Im trying to reinstall it with no success....Update...Even though I downloaded and used Windows Install clean up and removed Silverlight from my Add or Remove in my control panel when I tried to reinstall Silverlight it wont let me because it says I already have it. Could there be another download in my control panel that isnt called Silverlight but is part of it that I need to uninstall?

You might try these instructions. Sounds like the installer is failing which many times means that (1) the installer is corrupted or (2) you have a proxy server that blocks the site it needs to hit to verify the installer.

Try offline installation as suggested by bryant.
It could be your network policy or firewall settings prevent it.
