Netflix silverlight issue

Netflix says this is a Silverlight issue, hope someone here can help.

History: I have three computers running windows xp or xp pro, any of which would run netflix movie player on ie or firefox thru 8/30/09. The next day was a different story. All three stalled indefinitely on a particular screen "determining video quality." Same screen on each computer and both ie and firefox. Netflix walked me thru a couple tests including minimizing and maximizing the browser screen and told me to remove and reinstall silverlight. Which I did, no improvement.

I found browser activity logs for all the computers and found this: the last thing logged in each case, all computers & all browsers before stalling is this: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\3.0.40818.0\mscorrc.dll. I have some javascript logs too but don't know if/what's important in that.

Is this a silverlight bug?

Re: Netflix silverlight issue

I am having a similar issue. I noticed it as of 9/5/9, but I cannot watch any online movies instantly because it says I need silverlight downloaded when I go to do it, installation failed and it says to reload when I reinstall it and restart the computer. I called Netflix and they said to call Microsoft or go to their website.

Netflix 1-866-658-3609 24 hours a day.  I actually called 866-402-2616and had a code i used .... but Microsoft support was

Microsoft support phone number (866) 234-6020
HOURS OF OPERATION (Pacific)
Monday - Friday 5:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M.
Saturday - Sunday 6:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
they were closed when i called...

Re: Re: Netflix silverlight issue

I'm having exactly the same issue on three different computers - two of them running XP Professional and one running Windows 7.  I also noticed the change around the same time, but after speaking on the phone to both Netflix and Microsoft, they don't seem to be owning up to any reason why this change would have occurred after the product had been working.  They also haven't been able to solve the problem thusfar.
