 Its too early to expect next version in Silverlight. Of course there are many features lacking!!!

But let's speculate a bit. :-)

I think spring 2010 is the moment of the 4.0-versions. And I think that it would be in march. Visual Studio 2010 with .NET 4.0, WPF 4.0, WCF 4.0, CLR 4.0, Silverlight 4.0 and so on... maybe also Expression Studio 4.0? No, I think Expression Studio 3.0 lives a little bit longer with a Service Pack to make e.g. Blend working with 2010-Projectfiles.

What do you think/speculate?

as far as I remember, previous versions of Visual Studio were released in November. Next, VS 2008 was a beta for about a year. VS 2010 beta 1 has been released in May. As I understand, VS 2010 has more new things comparing with VS 2008 than VS 2008 comparing with VS 2005. It worth testing it a bit longer than VS 2008.

So, I bet on something about October next year. Or maybe Novermber if it's Microsoft's tradition. That's about VS 2010, but I'm not sure about SL 4 :)

During PDC2009 Microsft said ,the expected release date for Silverlight 4 is Q2-2010 .But Currently Silverlight 4 Beta is avaiable .

It works only with VS2010 :).
