everytime i try to install it just comes back saying that it was successful, but it doesn't work. I've tried to install numerous times, each time removing silverlight from the conrol panel add/remove programs.

my system seems to meet requirement, can anyone suggest what the problem is?

 my system:

Re: Silverlight 2.0 does not install

 Hi,

You will need to install Visual studio Service Pack 1 or SP1 as it is commonly known before installing silverlight 2.0 sdk.

You can get it from the microsoft site for free.

Mark as answer if i have helped you or revert back.

Re: Silverlight 2.0 does not install

Hi,

So you dont need it for any application development. If so, you just need to install the silverlight plugin to watch the videos in your browser.

The silverlight plugin will be available on the microsoft's site.

Re: Silverlight 2.0 does not install

You mean install silverlight 2 runtime successfully, but still cannot see any silverlight application. what can you see on this site http://silverlight.net/Showcase/ ?

just a guess, check if silverlight runtime plugin be disabled by your browser. (for ie8, you could see plugin setting at tools->internet options-> programs-> manage add-ons).

Re: Silverlight 2.0 does not install

 hi,

Even after uninstalling the silverlight from add/remove program its traces are left behind in the temp folder. Goto run> %temp% > enter . try remove the silverlight folder from it and then restart the computer once.

Then secondly, to confirm go to either www.microsoft.com/silverlight , if the plug-in has been removed successfully then, the website will ask you to download the plug-in for the same. Install the plug-in and there u are.

Re: Silverlight 2.0 does not install

 Hi,

I think the version of silverlight you are installing and the application you want to view are different. Try installing a plugin for silverlight 3.0. I think this will solve your problem.
